Vrattzata

The Vratzata
This is a narrow and
rocky gorge in the
steep north-east slope
of the Vratsa mountain
in the West Stara
Planina (the Balkans).
It is situated about 0,5
km from the town of
Vratza and is also a
place for alpinism.
In Roman times the
gorge was blocked by
a high fortress wall
(200 m long and 1 m
wide) with a gate.
