The LETNITZA Treasure

SILVER WITH GILT, FIRST HALF OF IV th C. BC. Applique with an hierogama On a plate, almost rectangular in shape, a "Holy Marriage" is presented. The man has a beard and hair tied up on the top of his head. On another rectangular plate he is presented as a horseman in a husky cataphract and a spear in his right hand. Behind the couple of lovers a woman is standing, blowing with a twig in one hand, and holding a jug in the other.

Applique "King's Hunt" Irregulary shaped, with a partially outlined rim of ovules. The hero has lifted up his hand with aspear against an erect bear which is attacking the horse. A wolf is lying under it being already killed. The horseman is in a husky cataphract. On his outer leg a knee- piece can be seen, decorated in its upper part with a human face.
