The major ski centers are located  in the south-western part of Bulgaria.  There are three world-famous winter  resorts in three great Bulgarian moun-  tains there.                                         The Rila Mountain has BOROVETZ. The Pirin Mountain has BANSKO. The Rodopi Mountain has PAMPOROVO. There are also several smaller ski centers such as ALEKO in the Vitosha Mountain, Semkovo and Panichishte in the Rila Mountain, Dobrinishte in the Pirin Mountain. They all offer winter sport facilities and wonderful conditions for a winter holiday. Sun and snow guaranteed!  A C T I V E   S K I   S E A S O N :  Late December - the end of April  You can choose from going skiing, trekking or snowboarding, walking in pine-tree forests, to the nearest chalets or just having a rest at the hotel in a cosy atmosphere.
